DC Aviation expands fleet, wins safety award

Germany-based DC Aviation has added a Gulfstream G650 to its fleet. A news article published at the European Business Air News (EBAN) website on 2 June 2017 confirms: “The 7,000 nm jet has one of the largest and most comfortable cabins in its class and is immediately available for charter from its home base at Stuttgart.”

Prestigious award

In the meantime, DC Aviation has won a prestigious award for its outstanding safety standards. The company was bestowed EBAA’s 2017 Diamond Safety of Flight Award, according to the EBAN news article. DC Aviation’s top management has welcomed this award as a morale-boosting development that comes at the right time. EBAN quotes Michael Kuhn, the company’s CEO, as saying: “Our constant quest for maximum safety is at the basis of everything we do. It is the cornerstone of our corporate philosophy.”

Dubai joint venture facility

DC Aviation is also making tremendous progress in the construction of a second hangar in Dubai. The company is jointly constructing the hangar through the DC Al-Futtaim (DCAF) partnership. DCAF’s Managing Director, Holger Ostheimer, is quoted by EBAN as confirming: “The contractors have made significant progress, and we are on track to complete the hangar in time for the Dubai Airshow later this year. On completion of the second hangar, we will be able to accommodate aircraft up to the Boeing 767 and significantly ramp up our maintenance capabilities.”

EBAN quotes Ostheimer as adding further: “Since DCAF commenced operations in November 2013, we have seen our business grow steadily year-on-year. Our facility offers the shortest distance from limousine drop-off to aircraft steps and the highest levels of privacy and safety, both of which have been widely appreciated and accepted by customers and operators. With the new hangar, we will be able to meet the growing demand for business and private jet operations in the Aviation District at Dubai South for years to come.”
