Jet Aviation adding a third hangar in Singapore facility
November 8, 2016
Jet Aviation Group has commenced the construction of a third hangar at its MRO and FBO facility in Singapore’s Seletar Aerospace Park, according to Terry Spruce’s news article published at the Corporate Jet Investor website on 4 November 2016. The company is developing the additional hangar in response to the growing demand for MRO and FBO services as well as parking operations from the regional private aviation industry.
This development will significantly expand Jet Aviation’s MRO and FBO operations in Singapore. As Spruce reports: “The project is due to be completed in November 2017 and will add 3,850 square metres of hangar space to the facility as well as 380 square metres to the interior shop.” This will effectively expand the total size of the company’s Singapore facility from the current 7,800 square metres to 11,650 square metres.
The new hangar is also designed to accommodate larger business jet aircraft. This will allow Jet Aviation to serve a wider market and attract operators of this type of aircraft. Spruce quotes Stafan Benz, the Senior Vice President and General Manager of the company’s MRO and FBO operations in EMEA and Asia, as saying: “As with our second hangar at 1071 West Camp Road, we are building this third hangar to meet the growing demand in the region for business aviation services, particularly for large, long-range business jets.” Spruce further quotes Benz as adding: “The new hangar will significantly boost the capacity of our maintenance, FBO and parking operations.”
Jet Aviation has been operating in Singapore for the last 20 years. The company has been instrumental in the development and expansion of FBO, MRO and parking services in the country. Its management team attributes the tremendous growth of its operations in Singapore to close cooperation and collaboration with the country’s aviation services authorities and regulators.
