Zenair takes kitplane workshops to Europe
May 4, 2017
Zenair is scheduled to hold inaugural kitplane workshops in Europe. According to Dave Calderwood’s news article published at the FLYER website on 2 May 2017: “The first will be on 29-30 June at Nancy, France, hosted by Zenair agent Barge Aviation.” The expansion of this particular workshop to Europe has been inspired by a similar programme that is held monthly at Zenith Aircraft’s US facility.
Scheduled to last for two days, the kitplane workshop is targeting participants from the aviation industry, including owners, crews, pilots and other stakeholders. It is designed to equip participants with skills for assembling their own kit aircraft.
Exciting opportunity for private aviation operators in Europe
This is interesting news for private aviation operators who are seeking staff training opportunities for their employees. As Calderwood reports, training activities will involve the modelling of kit parts along with “a complete rudder tail section” by participants under the professional direction of the workshop trainers. Calderwood quotes Zenith Aircraft’s Sebastien Heintz as confirming: “Participants are typically surprised to learn how quick and easy our modern kits are to assemble. While participants learn a lot and develop new skills, they also share camaraderie and make new friends from all over the continent.”
Other than the workshop, Barge Aviation will also host a Zenith Aircraft- and Zenair-sponsored fly-in and Open Hangar Day event on 1 July 2017. The event, which will be hosted at Barge Aviation’s newly opened Nancy-Essey Airport facility, will see Zenith Aircraft unveil updated kit designs. As Calderwood reports: “Zenith Aircraft will introduce kit for the two-seat Zenith CH 750 and CH 650 designs.”
Zenith and Barge aviation are extending invitations to all interested participants. Calderwood quotes Barge Aviation’s President, Yvan Barge, as saying: “We invite all Zenair builders, owners, pilots and enthusiasts to our European fly-in, and we are pleased that bilingual brothers Matt and Sebastien will be joining us for our event at our home facility at Nancy-Essey Airport. Join us for a talk, insights, food and fun.”
